Why Calcium and Magnesium Matter:
-
Calcium: Strengthens cell wall structure, regulates water in cells, vital for healthy plant growth.
-
Magnesium: Key for chlorophyll (green pigment), photosynthesis, enzyme activation, sugar transport.
Water Hardness:
-
Soft Water: EC (Electrical Conductivity) of 0.3 and below.
-
Normal Water: EC between 0.4 and 0.7.
-
Hard Water: EC of 0.8 and above, high in Calcium (Ca) and Magnesium (Mg).
Deficiency Symptoms:
-
Calcium: Weak stems, dark foliage, slow growth, yellow/brown spots on new growth.
-
Magnesium: Yellowing between veins, rusty spots on older leaves.
Benefits of Cal-Mag:
- Hardens soft water.
- Increases plant's Calcium and Magnesium levels.
- Improves plant health and quality.
- Prevents mineral deficiencies.
- Promotes growth and stabilizes EC levels.
- Enhances leaf and cell structure, nutrient uptake, and production of fruits and flowers.
Directions for Use:
-
General Use: 1ml per 1 Litre of nutrient solution or water.
-
For Coconut Substrate/Soil Mixes: Pre-buffer with 1ml per Litre of water, adjust pH to 6.0, and continue in nutrient solution for the first three weeks of vegetative phase.
-
pH Levels: Maintain between 5.8 and 6.3 to avoid nutrient lockout.
-
Caution: Do not overdose to prevent negative effects.
Ideal for:
- Correcting soft water.
- Plants in coconut substrate, prepared soil, or soilless mixes.
- Fast-growing annuals, high Ca and Mg demanding plants, or when calcium is scarce.
